Why should I use the app? What's in it for me?

ELLISTRA's objective is to help you develop your soft skills so that you can be more fulfilled in your job and unleash your potential.

After a few months of coaching, you will…

  • Feel more confident
  • Be more productive
  • Solve problems faster
  • Make wiser decisions
  • Handle changes and annoyances with more resilience
  • Solve disagreements and conflicts more easily
  • Better understand the people you work with
  • Get the best of the people you work with
  • Communicate in a more compelling way
  • Feel physically and mentally healthier

How is ELLISTRA going to help me develop my soft skills?

Contrary to other existing solutions, ELLISTRA is gonna help you develop your soft skills thanks to the power of neuroscience.

The only reason why you are not always at your best is because your Little Monster (the subconscious and automatic part of your brain) does not always influence your behaviour in a way that serves your best interests... For example, it is the one telling you: 'This task is so annoying, let's put it off!'; ‘Let's skip my workout today!’. What makes ELLISTRA so unique is that she helps you TAME your Little Monster so that it starts working in your best interests most of the time…

A coaching session is always made of 4 parts: goal setting / reality check / options / commitment to take action.

Depending on your mood, ELLISTRA will either invite you to set your objective or to describe the situation you are facing. ELLISTRA will always help you understand what is happening in your brain and why your behaviour is not always optimal.

Then, ELLISTRA will provide you with powerful tactics to help you build new habits successfully. These tactics are all based on research in cognitive sciences. Some of the tactics are designed to help you create thoughts. Others are designed to help you adjust your environment or take specific action.

Finally, ELLISTRA will come back to you on a regular basis to follow-up. She will help you monitor and celebrate your progress for each challenge you've faced.

To sum up, ELLISTRA aims at helping you be more fulfilled in your job. To do so, she will help you harness the power of neuroscience and tame your Little Monster. This happens to be an app with 3 main parts: a chatting interface, hundreds of swiping cards and a monitoring system.

When and how am I supposed to use ELLISTRA?

You can chat with ELLISTRA wherever you want (e.g., on-the-job, in the public transport, at home) and whenever you want to (e.g., before a meeting, when you feel low, stressed or demotivated). What matters most is that you implement the tactics we explore together as often as possible to build new habits successfully.

Some employees only chat with ELLISTRA once a week (or even less) and still manage to implement the tactics regularly. That's fine!

The majority of employees chat with ELLISTRA one or two times a week. They either chat for a few seconds to do a quick follow up and/or get ready to apply a few tactics during the day… Others chat a little bit more to complete a full coaching session, learn about their brain's functioning or explore different tactics in the library.

Is my personal data really safe?

At ELLISTRA, we care very much about your privacy. That's why we guarantee the strict protection of your personal data.

We gather various types of personal information from our users such as their email address, their personal habits and other information related to their self-development journey with their coach ELLISTRA. With this information, we are able to allow our users to set up a user account and a user profile, to analyse how users utilise our product, to contact our users and to personalise and improve our services.

Your employer has only access to some aggregated and anonymous analyses at the team level. They cannot, under any circumstances, get access to your personal data. However, we only share aggregated and anonymous information with third parties.

Where does the content come from? Is the content reliable?

Everything we do at ELLISTRA, we do it while keeping our mission in mind: Helping a majority of employees harness the power of neuroscience so that they can improve their working life and unleash their full potential. All the content you will find in ELLISTRA is based on recent researches in neuroscience conducted by various experts worldwide.

Nellie, who is one of ELLISTRA's co-founders is passionate about self-development and cognitive sciences and has built her expertise as an autodidact. She is also a certified coach in Social and Emotional Intelligence. Caroline, who is one of ELLISTRA's employees is a professional Neuropsychologist

Our strength at ELLISTRA comes from our ability to make complicated and abstract concepts simpler and more concrete so that everyone can understand and apply them in his or her day-to-day life.

Under no circumstances is our goal to be 100% accurate when it comes to describing how our brain precisely works. After all, even the most well-known experts in neuroscience are not all aligned... That's why we like to underline that humility is one of our core values.

If you are quite 'advanced' in the neuroscience-related topics, ELLISTRA's content might sound too easy at the first glance. However, keep in mind that knowing things about your brain's functioning and being able to apply abstract concepts in your day-to-day life are two different things!

How can I earn points and be rewarded for my efforts and progress?

You have two different ways to be rewarded by ELLISTRA. First, you earn points each time you go through a coaching session with ELLISTRA and prove your determination to learn and grow. Second, you earn points each time you follow up and assess your progress on a challenge you've recently faced.

IMPORTANT: Keep in mind that you can visualise your progress per category and per challenge in real time in the section 'My profile' of the app!

What's my Little Monster?

Your Little Monster is the subconscious and automatic part of your brain. We've given this part of your brain a nickname to help you grasp abstract concepts more easily. To save your rational brain energy, it handles most of your day-to-day situations on its own and in an automatic way.

Your Little Monster simply reacts to potential threats and rewards it spots in every situation, based on what it learnt in the past. When your Little Monster identifies a potential threat, it influences your behaviour to optimise your protection. You automatically feel the urge to either freeze, run away or fight (as if your were being attacked by an angry goose!). Your brain slips into 'defensive mode'. On the other hand, when your Little Monster spots an appealing reward, it does everything it can to help you catch this reward. Your brain slips into 'exploratory mode'.

When your behaviour is not optimal, it could reveal one or two things. Firstly, it could reveal that your Little Monster wants to protect you against a harmless threat when it should not. Secondly, it could reveal that your Little Monster wants to help you catch a poor immediate reward.

The real challenge for you to handle most of your day-to-day situations the best way is to tame your Little Monster so that:
1) It stops protecting you against harmless threats.
2) It starts helping you catch great rewards.

Our mission is to help you do so. The more you train, the better you will be at taming your Little Monster 😉
